The experience

You don't wait for the sky. You go and find it.

Seeing the aurora is first a matter of clear skies and darkness. Each evening our guides read the forecast — KP index, cloud cover, breaks in the weather — then we set off by minibus to wherever the sky opens up, sometimes an hour away, sometimes just over the hill.

Once you're there, all that's left is to look up. Deep green rippling overhead, veils of pink and violet, sometimes a corona right above you. We help you set up your camera, pour you a hot drink, and wait together for the light to take the stage.

Small groups, cold-weather gear provided, and all the patience it takes: the aurora can't be ordered up, but we stack every odd in your favour.
